With major curriculum shifts on the horizon for schools across Aotearoa, having access to nationally-relevant evidence helps us navigate change effectively.

The Curriculum Insights and Progress Study has officially released its highly anticipated findings drawing on national data collected from student learning. To help educators unpack what these findings mean for the science classroom, the study team is hosting a range of short, free webinar series this June which also includes a specific focus on science.

Curriculum Insights Report for Science

At least two of the Curriculum Insights webinars are relevant for science:

  • Wednesday 10 June Webinar: A deep dive into the national science achievement data, examining foundational knowledge strengths and areas for growth across Year 3, Year 6, and Year 8.

  • Wednesday 24 June Webinar: A practical session focused on classroom implications, teaching resources, and how to connect these findings with the future directions of curriculum reform.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the research team from the University of Otago and NZCER.
