Around 68% of commercial fish catch in Aotearoa comes from bottom trawling. This industrial fishing method heavy-handedly drags nets across sea floor habitats. It raises serious questions about how we protect marine life across the Bay of Plenty and beyond.

This August, Sustainability Options is hosting Tauranga local Kate Graeme, President of the Forest & Bird national board, to lead an open conversation on the true impact of bottom trawling on our moana.
