A fully online pathway into food, fibre and environmental futures
If your senior students are curious about ecology, global food systems or land use in Aotearoa, Lincoln University’s STAR Programme is a genuine opportunity to get started early.
STAR lets Year 12 and 13 students enrol in first year university courses while still at school, studying online in a structured and well supported environment. It is a chance for motivated ākonga to explore the thriving food and fibre and environmental sectors while earning credits that may count towards a future degree.

What students can study
Students can choose from three fully online, semester based courses that can be completed from school or from home.
MGMT 106 — Global Food Systems An introduction to how food systems operate globally and a pathway into further agribusiness study. Starts February.
LINC 101 — Land, People and Economies A look at the land based issues that shape society, including land use change and its ecological, biophysical, social, economic and cultural drivers. Starts February.
ECOL 103 — Ecology I: New Zealand Ecology and Conservation A deep dive into Aotearoa ecosystems and the plants, animals and fungi that call them home. Starts July.
Key details
There are no fees for STAR courses. Students receive a letter of completion and may be able to credit the course towards their first year if they go on to study at Lincoln University. High achieving students who earn an A grade and later enrol in a Lincoln degree may also be eligible for funding towards their first full year.
