Ātea a Rangi Educational Trust and Te Matau a Māui waka hourua invite teachers to take part in a Marine Monitoring Wānanga focused on understanding our local marine environment.

This workshop explores how to observe and record environmental indicators, with a focus on estuary ecosystems and ocean health. Participants will use both their senses and scientific tools to monitor biodiversity and environmental change.


Designed for both primary and secondary educators, this wānanga offers practical approaches that can be taken back into the classroom, alongside opportunities to connect with local knowledge, place, and community.
