Are you a teacher, school leader or property owner in Ōtūmoetai?
Space for Nature is a grassroots initiative that aims to connect people together with nature, helping them to provide eco-friendly habitats, keeping wildlife safe and connecting within wider neighbourhoods and reserves.
These steps provide crucial ecological corridors through our streets and cities to support biodiversity and protection of our native taonga species.

Schools are an important link in this community movement and can sign up to celebrate the work they are doing for the environment, and to encourage their students and families to join in too.
Space for Nature is active in the Western Bay District and we have a pilot programme currently in the Ōtūmoetai area. Schools and private property owners can join if they are in these areas.
Your registration will acknowledge the work you're doing and give you...
Free advice and support on protecting biodiversity at your school
Free workshops
A free native plant
Predator Free BOP membership with free traps
A roadside sign to share the message and encourage families to sign up.
Your school may be already doing a lot for the environment, or you may just be starting out. Joining Space for Nature will provide ongoing support and help your efforts spread into your community as people see your Space for Nature sign and notice what you're doing.
