Curious about the dynamic geology right in your backyard? Beneath the Waves are hosting an interactive afternoon in Whakatāne dedicated to local volcanoes.
This free event gives rangatahi, kaiako, and whānau a chance to put their geological questions to real volcanologists. Learn about the science behind Whakaari/White Island and Tūhua/Mayor Island while exploring hands-on activities, books, and educational displays.

The team the Volcano Open Day at Whakatāne Library are also interested in community feedback on their current volcano resources to help make them even better for Bay of Plenty communities.
