Kaiako from across the Bay of Plenty gather at the University of Waikato to share innovative teaching strategies during the annual summit.

The event is a collaborative effort between the University of Waikato, Mount Maunganui College, and Priority One. This partnership highlights the strength of the regional education community and its commitment to local decision-making and place-based science learning.

Keynote speaker Dr Tim Gander from EPiT will headline a strong lineup of presenters. Sessions are designed to be affordable and accessible, acknowledging that the true cost of professional development often lies in teacher release. One highlight includes an MOE facilitator leading a workshop on assessment in the age of generative technology.

Professional Growth at the Tauranga Innovative Education Summit

This summit provides a rare opportunity for local educators to connect without the need for extensive travel. By bridging the gap between research and the classroom, the programme ensures that innovation remains grounded in the needs of our local community. Whether you are a primary teacher or a secondary leader, the workshops offer tangible tools to improve learning outcomes for all students.
