Empower KEA: Gamechanger

Empower KEA is excited to announce its first hui run by Keri Tan Garlick, titled “Gamechanger: Tricks that make a huge difference in the day to day teaching at a high equity index (low decile) school.”

Empower Kaiako for Equity in Aotearoa (KEA) is a national teachers association aimed at empowering kaiako with the tools, professional learning and spaces to support them towards realising the aspirations of their ākonga. Source: empowerkea.org.nz

Keri will be covering three things she has found made a difference moving from a mid decile to low decile school, such as Classroomscreen, Preferred Activity Time, and Linking Do Nows to Rewards Systems. 

We decided to call this PLD a hui to indicate to others that you are welcome to share your ideas as well and stop Keri to ask questions. 

This hui will take place online only, this Thursday after school at 3:45 pm.

If you can’t make it, Keri will be recording it on her laptop and will upload it later to YouTube. Further discussion on what has been covered will be found on our Discord platform. 

Please note that you do need to be a member of Empower KEA to access this hui (check your inbox and spam folder) which will be hosted on Google Meets. If you’re not already a member, please fill in the linked Google Form.
