Dr. Mitch Schulte (Lead programmer for NASA for the Mars Rover programme) will deliver an introduction about the Mars Rover, Opportunity.
This event is open to the public.

Good Night Oppy is a heartwarming documentary that follows the journey of Opportunity ("Oppy"), a NASA rover originally sent to Mars for a 90-day mission that miraculously lasted nearly 15 years. Through stunning visuals, archival footage, and emotional narration, the film chronicles Oppy's unexpected longevity, scientific discoveries, and the deep bond that developed between the rover and the team of scientists and engineers who guided her. Blending space exploration with human emotion, the documentary celebrates perseverance, curiosity, and the spirit of exploration, offering an inspiring glimpse into the life of a machine that became so much more.
When: Wednesday 24th September, 5pm - 7:30pm
Where: Mount Maunganui College
This event is open to the public. Educators can also participate in Earth and Space PLD on the 22nd and 24th at the Astrobiology Conference.
