On February 11, 2026, the New Zealand Association for Environmental Education (NZAEE) invites secondary teachers across the country to participate in an online session titled “Exploring Change and Support in Sustainability Education.” From 4 to 5 p.m., educators will gain valuable insights into curriculum changes, assessment updates, and the resources available to support sustainability teaching.

Curriculum and Assessment Updates: The webinar will cover the latest changes relevant to Years 9 through 13, ensuring educators are well-informed and prepared.
Resource Sharing: Attendees will receive curated educational resources, including the Education for Sustainability teaching resource and lists of regional organizations.
Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow teachers and kaiako, share experiences, and discuss challenges and successes.
Flexible Participation: If you can’t attend live, the session will be recorded, and a written summary will be provided, allowing for open discussion.
About the Speakers:
Lyn Rogers: With over 40 years of experience, Lyn is a pioneer in sustainability education. Her work spans curriculum development, resource creation, and professional development, emphasizing culturally responsive pedagogies and integrating mātauranga Māori.
Becky McCormack: Becky brings nine years of teaching experience in science and biology, with a focus on cultural responsiveness and place-based learning. Her work emphasizes connecting students with nature and local communities, fostering authentic learning experiences.
