TECT Tauranga Campus Returning Student Scholarship

Teachers — if you have students who’ve taken time away from tertiary study or are thinking about continuing at the University of Waikato’s Tauranga campus, here’s one to pass on.
The TECT Tauranga Campus Returning Student Scholarship offers $3,500 towards tuition fees for students returning to full-time undergraduate study in 2026. Funded by the Tauranga Energy Consumer Trust (TECT), this scholarship supports local learners to keep studying close to home — in areas ranging from science and engineering to business, education, and the arts.
To be eligible, applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and enrolled full-time at the Tauranga campus. It’s an excellent option for students who’ve paused their studies and are ready to reconnect with university life.
