On Wednesday 10 September 2025, Bay of Plenty's the third cluster of 2025 will take place at Mount Maunganui College—a professional learning and development hui designed to get kaiako thinking, inspired and ready for the Te Tūkohu Ngāwhā Mātauranga Māori and Science Fair in 2026.

See the flyer here:
This special session brings together two key voices from the heart of this year's fair:
Keeley Grantham – one of the event organisers, sharing key details to help teachers and students get started on their journey. Keeley is also an Environmental Officer of Biosecurity and Biodiversity at Te Arawa Lakes Trust. Her role also includes community education.
Janie Stevenson – from Bay Conservation Alliance and a 2025 fair judge, offering her perspective on what makes a project stand out and how the judging process celebrates both mātauranga Māori and science. Janie is also the Education and Engagement Manager at Bay Conservation Alliance.
Whether you’re a science fair regular or completely new to the kaupapa, this hui will give you the tools, connections, and inspiration to take part. It is also a great opportunity to find out about school projects that are at the interface of mātauranga Māori and science.
