Clash of the Colleges: Agriculture Challenge for Students

Clash of the Colleges is a national agriculture and horticulture competition where secondary students compete in practical, hands-on challenges designed to showcase real-world skills used across New Zealand’s food and fibre sector. Events are held across the country, with regional teams completing fast-paced modules covering topics such as animal health, plant identification, fencing, and farm systems.


Secondary school students interested in agriculture and horticulture are being invited to take part in Clash of the Colleges | Te Tukinga Kura Tuarua, a fast-paced, hands-on competition designed to showcase the skills behind New Zealand’s food and fibre industries.


Run by Agri Futures, the event brings together teams of four students who rotate through a circuit of practical challenges, each lasting just a few minutes. Across the day, teams complete a series of modules covering real-world agricultural skills and knowledge.
