Design a superhero, protect the Moana! Enter now and go in a draw to win a share of $1500 in prizes!

Keeping our coastlines healthy requires teamwork, fresh ideas, and a strong understanding of our local marine ecosystems. Invasive marine pests pose a significant threat to our native biodiversity, often hitchhiking on boat hulls and equipment. To combat this issue, we need the next generation of environmental advocates to get involved and understand the science behind biosecurity.

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council is calling on future guardians of the moana to help protect our harbours and seas. These school holidays, they are running a creative initiative to engage young minds with local conservation efforts. By designing a character capable of fighting off invasive species, rangatahi can learn about marine biology while putting their artistic skills to the test.
