Wellington will host Climate Festival Pōneke 2026 from 18 April to 9 May, bringing together community groups, researchers, and organisations for a programme of climate action events.

A wide range of climate-focused events are planned across Wellington during Climate Festival Pōneke 2026, running from 18 April to 9 May.


The festival highlights community initiatives, workshops, kōrero, and collaborative sessions exploring practical responses to climate change.


Events will cover topics such as:


  • climate storytelling and community kōrero

  • climate science workshops and systems thinking

  • sustainable living and emissions reduction

  • local climate action initiatives


The programme is designed to connect science, community action, and everyday climate solutions, with events open to a broad public audience.
