New NZASE Resource | S1.2 and PESS 1.2

Linda Haycock from the New Zealand Association of Science Educators (NZASE) has written and published a new Year 11 unit about drones. This unit of work is suitable for Science 1.2 (Investigative Approaches) and PESS1.2 (Physics Investigation).

The new unit is "ready to use" to cater to all those kaiako who have a busy schedule, especially those working in isolation in remote areas.
An accompanying teacher guide also identifies teacher considerations and a brief explanation of physics concepts suitable for non-specialists and beginner teachers.
For experienced teachers, and those who are considering the move back to NCEA, the unit features a conceptual understanding of forces and motion that is reminiscent of the old Mechanics 1.1, as well as familiar practical investigations such as the muffin cup experiment, in the context of drones.
This resource will be featured as part of Bay of Plenty's Cluster No. 2 which is being run by Linda (NZASE) and sponsored with freebies and kai from LearnWell.
