The Great Tauranga Moana Biosecurity Hunt is a free, interactive outdoor experience that gets participants exploring local environments while learning about biosecurity and invasive species in the Bay of Plenty.

Using the Actionbound app, participants follow clues, answer questions, and complete challenges across locations such as Mount Maunganui, Tauranga CBD, Katikati, Waihi Beach, and Te Puke.

This hands-on experience highlights real biosecurity issues, helping learners understand how pests and invasive species impact native ecosystems—and what we can do to protect them.
