Phase 5 Science Curriculum Release Date

The Ministry of Education has released new information about the Phase 5 science curriculum release date, outlining when Year 11–13 subjects will be published for consultation.

Under the new timeframe, Phase 5 curriculum subjects will be released for consultation in three stages:


Group 1 - May - June (Science)

The subjects will be released in their entirety i.e. Year 11-13 History, and Year 12-13 Psychology, to demonstrate the development of the subject across learning years.


Science teachers will notice that Year 11 has been grouped together with Year 12-13.


We're expecting more information about the consultation process in the coming weeks, where feedback received will refine the final curriculum for implementation from 2028 to 2030.
